KURASHIKI YASAIZOME KENKYUJO

Vegetables, such as onions, grown on the outskirts of Kurashiki City create an unusual, gentle hue on stoles and bags.
Kurashiki Vege Labo uses the vegetables to create dyes so safe that they can be drunk.
Piece by piece, it dyes cloth made of natural materials such as canvas, denim, and silk created in Kurashiki. The company works its own fields, and so it has first-hand experience of the link between organic materials and life.
Vegetables that would normally be discarded are given new roles here and connected to the circle of life.
All products have been certified by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, which has a strict standard for organic produce, similar to that of France.
